Country: USA
Genre: Posthardcore, Emo, Indie Rock.
Label: Ed Walters Records
True If Destroyed was a posthardcore, indie band from Philadelphia, PA with a variety of influences and sounds that complemented and contrasted each other, which resulted in a unique form of posthardcore and indie rock. True If Destroyed featured melodic guitars that reflect a deep appreciation for mid-'80s DC bands like Rain, Soulside and Rites of Spring. Front woman Julia Gaylord's vocals, meanwhile, take a suspiciously angelic foil to the busy instrumentation, invoking the air--if not a revisitation--of an idealistic pocket of mid-'90s basement groups a la Discount, Current or Evergreen, or The Pine. Picture Del Cielo mixed with Fugazi and you'll begin to get the picture.
