Ceremony - Rohnert Park: Sick EP [2010]

1) Sick
2) Life As A War

Country: U.S.A.
Genre: Hardcore Punk
Label: Bridge Nine Records

Bay Area CA's CEREMONY are excited to announce the release of their third full-length, Rohnert Park, which will be available on June 8th 2010 via Bridge Nine Records. Rohnert Park is the band's finest material to date and mixes elements from their past work while exploring new territory for the band. This new album is equal parts aggressive and incendiary and, dare we say it, catchy. Don't let that fool you, though; Ceremony's punk stomp is apparent on Rohnert Park and Ross Farrar's vocals are as ranting as ever. Recorded this past winter in Oakland, CA with Dan Rathbun (Tragedy, From Ashes Rise), Rohnert Park is unsafe, noisy, dynamic, and pissed. And, most importantly, impressive.Just north of San Francisco in Sonoma County is Rohnert Park, CA, where several members of Ceremony grew up. The band commented, "Where the owls can't seem to find, yet the geese are well known. Here, you are bound for the pageant, or bound for the bars. Fingers are pointed without the facts. Truth has no direction. You are useless here. Rohnert Park is desolate. Rohnert Park is majestic."Ceremony has returned with a record that will cement them as one of the most destructive and meaningful bands that punk and hardcore has seen in years. Look for Rohnert Park in stores on June 8th.

Here's the master rip of this 14 song masterpiece, straight from Raw Nerve. This is not the crappy sounding usb turntable rip that's been circulating the net. Chicago's Raw Nerve do everything right here. Raw Nerve's debut full length feature fourteen songs in under 14 minutes, no boring fillers or songs that fall short as bands seem to have when going from putting out 7"s to full length LP's. Raw Nerve definitely deliver here with a perfect mix of short, violent rippers & mid-paced songs. The obvious standout of the LP is the song titled "Hemlock", which slams you over the head in true Raw Nerve style. This download includes the recording of the 'secret' double grooved track unavailable on download until now. Raw Nerve fit in perfectly with Youth Attack label mates Nazi Dust, Vile Gash, Aerosols, and Failures. On a side note, Mark McCcoy (label Owner) is fast becoming the new Will Killingsworth (Orchid) of the scene as far as slam you over the head/kick you in the balls production of his current roster of Youth Attack releases. (Either that or he sold his soul to satan, LOL!) Highly recommended!

Genre: Hardcore
Label: Denovali, Great Northern Records.

With its 2500 inhabitants, Rognan in northern Norway is counted as the place in Norway with the largest number of bands per citizen. Among these, there is one hardcore band: Dominic. Norway’s HC-capital, Bodø, is only an hour drive away, and it was here Dominic found their place ideologically and socially in the scene built around Bodø Hardcore Festival (10 years anniversary in 2009!) and The Spectacle. In Bodø and eventually Trondheim, the band followed the strict DIY-ethics and released the EP "Running With Scissors" and the self titled debut LP in 2006. Dominic's 2nd full-length Nord (“north” in Norwegian) is at it's roots, mainly a hardcore record. With that said, Nord stands out from the pack with airy & epic guitar parts, almost leaning towards postrock. Dominic rips through the album with intense energy/urgency, fronted by fluent drumming and topped by crisp-sounding dueling guitars. Nord is everything a good rock record should be; energetic, direct and LOUD! Nord shows Dominic taking a huge step in progression and becomes more enjoyable and infectious after each listen. Enjoy!

400 Years - Discography (1996-2000)

Country: USA
Genre: Screamo, hardcore, punk
Label: Lovitt Records

Four Hundred Years were not merely a band, but a phenomenon. A force of emo/hardcore intensity that began in Tucson, Arizona, following the end of Groundwork, they eventually migrated to Richmond, Virginia. Four Hundred Years amassed a large, frenzied, and rabid audience. Intelligent and intricate with a perfect blend of melody and dissonance in all the right places, Four Hundred Years had unparalleled abilities to captivate their listeners and turn them loose on an unsuspecting music world. Alternative Press noted, "Combined with the weight of their political views, the tension of Four Hundred Years' music is simultaneously a catharsis and a call to arms."Four Hundred Years toured Europe, Japan, and America numerous times and played with notables such as as Fugazi, Frodus, Sleepytime Trio, and many more. Upon the completion of recording The New Imperialism, their third full-length, they played four final shows on the east coast and disbanded.

Four Hundred Years was originally Ash (drums), Dave (guitar), Erin (bass), and Daron (guitar). Their second and final line-up was Ash (drums) Dave, Bull (bass, formerly of Policy of Three and Montag), and Daron. Currently, Daron and Ash are working together in a project named Delegate. Here's their discography of full lengths along with their first 7" and split 7"s with Seein' Red and Sleepytime trio. Highly influential! This music has stood up over time and sounds just as urgent, angry, and passionate as when the band originally recorded their music. Enjoy!

Dischaos:

Plevok:

Plevok was formed in december 2008 by two punks Vitya and Jele. They both liked fast and hard crust&hardcore punk music and decided to create band with two vocals. They wanted to play d-beat with elements of hardcore and thrash metal. But after searching of musicians, they understood that there are no people, who can play this music in there city. That's why Jele sat the drums and Vitya took guitar and began to sing. In this membership was played the first diy concert with Double Trouble and Ace Ventura. Than to the band came Max(Only Truth) on bass. After a few concerts a band recoreded Crisis in the State EP and now are ready for new shows.

W warstwie lirycznej, mocno „dziewczyńska”, aż do bólu szczera i niesamowita spowiedź wokalistki Matki Zajdel.

Bats And Mice - Discography: 2000-2004 (So Far?)

Country: USA
Genre: Indie Rock
Label: Lovitt

Bats & Mice is a band that has quietly crept through the music world with an increasing presence. Three members of Sleepytime Trio originally formed the band: Jonathan Fuller, David NeSmith, and Ben Davis. They began writing songs together in a new style that pursued melody with an exploration into dark and winding territory. However, the music still maintained the energy and drive of their previous efforts. This line-up produced Bats & Mice's first work, a self-titled CDep released on Lovitt Records in fall 2000 to critical acclaim and mass popularity with college radio and fans alike.

With Bats & Mice members all involved in other bands, such as Milemarker and Rah Bras, the band moved along at a slower pace. Jonathan concentrated his efforts on his bands Denali and Engine Down, leaving little time for a third band. Bats & Mice bid him well and welcomed two members from another groundbreaking outfit who were also venturing into similar musical forms.

Longtime friends Daron Hollowell and Ash Bruce from Four Hundred Years climbed aboard and piloted the band to new directions, including live shows and a full-length album entitled Believe It Mammals, which was released on Lovitt in the spring of 2002. The band played shows in Florida, Chicago, Boston, and most everywhere in between with such rock favorites as Fugazi, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, 90 Day Men, Denali, Rah Bras, and Gregor Samsa. Bats & Mice's intricate blend of not-so-saccharine pop and straightforward rock captured audiences as they played their first shows in December 2001. They continued to write new material and tour extensively in 2002.

This perfect farm league band then spawned another group, as Daron and Ash pursued a new project in Delegate. Writing and touring with two projects grew to involve them full time so Bats & Mice wished more friends the best as they moved on.

Jay Murphy helped out for a while on the drumkit, followed by Luke Herbst. Ratcheting up the Bats & Mice’s intensity, Luke lent a heavy, aggressive approach to the band and appeared on the group’s second EP, A Person Carrying a Handmade Paper Bag is Considered as a Royal Person. Luke left the band in 2004 for Oakland, CA, to join Totimoshi, but things have come full circle, as Jonathan Fuller has rejoined the group and cemented the original line-up.

The future of Bats & Mice looks bright with a steady approach to song writing and plans to tour in Spring 2006. They are working on new material for their next record, and a reinvigorated enthusiasm has infected the band, boding well for the group and listeners alike.

Sleepytime Trio started out in Harrisonburg, Virginia, as a side project of the band Maximillian Colby in the fall of 1994. Sleepytime Trio was originally Drew Ringo on guitar, Ben Davis on bass, and Jonathan Fuller on drums. They played shows around the mid-Atlantic region and then in the summer of '95 added guitarist Dave Nesmith who played with Drew in Maximillian Colby. As Maximillian Colby began dissipating, Sleepytime Trio became everybody's full time band and started playing more. With the line-up established, the no longer three-piece Sleepytime Trio did a whirlwind tour in the summer of 1996, playing 20 shows in 17 days, going from Virginia to Florida, Chicago, Quebec, and back to Washington, DC.
Sleepytime Trio managed to control chaos to an almost uncontrollable point. Seeing them live was always a surprise as nobody knew quite what to expect, for at any instant combustion might have occurred.

The band took an extended hiatus in 1998, as Drew relocated to Seattle, and the remaining members went on to form Engine Down, Rah Bras, Milemarker, Challenger, and Ben Davis & The Jetts. Sleepytime Trio lived again in May 1999, as they played the cities of Chapel Hill, DC, Philadelphia, Worcester, and New York in rapid succession. After taking yet another hiatus, they played several shows on the east coast again in December 1999 with hose.got.cable. Filled with manic kids, a Trio member's bruised head, catharsis, and love, these two reunion tours will be memories for the ages. One of my all-time favorites. I'd put them up there with influental "screamo" bands such as Orchid, Indian Summer, and The Hated!!!

Think Thin Lizzy by way of Drive Like Jehu and Hot Snakes. You'll start to get the picture. Young Livers have honed their sound this time around. I pick up an undercurrent of deep melodies, peppered with soaring despair, tales of cryptic journeys, all wrapped in a twisted, anthemic sense of hope, and buried under the weight of life. One of my favorite releases of 2010. A definite must for fans who enjoy Hot Snakes, Drive Like Jehu, and Cloak/Dagger.

Ahoi compañeros! This seems to be the very first time I‘m going to write some shit on here. Believe me, I‘m very well aware of the fact that probably nobody ever will read this, nor will be interested enough to just hop over on our small blog. So I guess I‘m just doing this for myself in order to kill some time or wathever. The thing is that we interim decided not to use MyScheiss, so I set us a small blog up on here to put on lyrics, songs and some other stuff AND above all to have the opportunity to post from time to time some shitty news no one will care about, oh yeah!

Anyway, we just recorded our first seven songs live in our small basement rehearsal room and played our first five shows which were all pretty cool. The first two shows happend at the beginning of March somewhere in our hometown Graz. One of the shows was a benefit gig which a local anti-repression group has put on in order to raise some money for the Austrian animal rights activists who were arrested in 2008 and stayed in remand for 105 days because of § 278a StGB. § 278 is a fucking law existing in Austria that can punish people for being part of a so called „Kriminelle Organisation“ (Translated: Criminal organization?). In fact you don‘t have to be part of something „criminal“, you just have to be part of a political group that doesn‘t fit them for any reason. The bad thing about it is that with § 278 this state can muzzle and silence all the people, that are in any way criticial or show civil societal commitment, just by assuming people that they are part of a criminal organization. I don‘t know what’s the current state, but I think the proceedings are still going on. Yes, this goddam state sucks so damn much and you can‘t even imagine how much I hate it! I guess something similar is also existing in other countries, I also know it from Germany with § 129 StGB for example. The second show we played was the tour kick-off show for the South-East European tour of Plague Mass, where two of us also play in. The show also turned out pretty nice and the aftershow party going on was even nicer.

Now we just came back from our first weekend where we played some shows outside of our hometown. We booked all the shows in the very last minute and so we didn‘t expect them as good as they were. At the first show somewhere in Veszprém County, Hungary we met our good friend Dario from Slovenia, who is driving the American band we played with through Europe. Killin‘ It! seem to be pretty good guys, also the Gagarin, his !wife! and his friends who made the show and so we had a great party going on after the show. The show had to be over really early. Perfect! More time for us to get drunk and to party. And so we did, spending all our gasoline money and more for beer. Together with the Americans we slept in an office, but the special thing about it was that next to this office there is a bowling alley where we partied on, drank way too much of the cheapest leftover wine we found somewhere and of course bowled by using our empty beer bottles as pines. What a mess, you can imagine. The drive to the next show was pretty long. We had to go to the very north of Slovakia to a small town called Čadca near to the Czech/Polish border. What a show that was at Klub KOMA. We played last and all the people there were going wild and crazy and they really were a lot. Also the vegan goulash Twiggy made for us was really delicious. Everything alright. We slept at an !alpine cabin! where some of us of course again partied on with some fresh drinks and good grass until the sun rised. Amazing view! Back again in something looking like a civilization we had to find the way to Vienna where we played at the power to the people fest II. After hanging out in Vienna the whole day and eating way too much Flö picked us up and we arrived at TÜWI. TÜWI is one of the nice places in Austria, not only for shows, but also just to hang out there. The power to the people fest happend there for the second time now and we played on the second day of the fest. I don‘t even want to try to imagine how much time and work and probably also money Flö put into it as the fest goes for two days and she set it up alone. The show was fun, but unfortunately we left the show pretty early heading towards Graz because some of us had to get up really early on the next day. Thanks to our friend Walli for lending us dirty fuckers his van for the shows. That’s really appreciated! Now we are looking forward to the shows we‘re going to play in July in Croatia, Slovenia and Austria.

Cheers!
