Whirr is a San Francisco, CA based band featuring members of the mighty and amazing Deafheaven. Whirr was in existence before Deafheaven and features a great style of neo-shoegaze that takes the melodies and style of shoegaze and adds a punk sensibility, which equates to a band that isn't afraid to push the envelope in developing a unique take on this style of music. Whirr does an incredible job in creating dramatic songs of soothing, razor sharp guitar textures backed by soft female vocals. With their truly DIY take on things, Whirr updates and recreates the sonic soundscapes previously pioneered by the likes of Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine. Whirr is a must listen for fans of Broken Water, True Window, as well as DeafHeaven.
