Cat Party are an Orange County, CA based band who formed in 2007. Cat Party play a style of music that incorporates elements of punk, post punk, new wave, and hints of shoegaze that results in an interesting take on the new wave post punk sound. The ten songs on Cat Party's second LP entitled Rhapsody In Black take cues from bands ranging from Bauhaus, Gang Of Four, Wire, early Cure, Joy Division to newer bands such as The Estranged and The Estrogen Highs. Overall, the ten songs on Rhapsody In Black make for a great listen for fans of cold and at times synth influenced post punk.
