I can't believe how this band has absolutely nailed it on their debut, self released LP entitled The Feral Sound Or The Whole Art Of Courtships. Courtships are a Suffolk, VA based band who play a brutal and technical style of music that draws influences from late 90's post hardcore and hardcore as well as some of the more brutal modern bands currently releasing music. I hear influences ranging from late 90's era Botch, Converge, Breather Resist, and Coalesce. Add to the mix, bands such as Heatherns, Surroundings, and Caulfield and you begin to see the direction the band is taking with their sound. Overall, Courtships provide us with nine brutal, technical, and brilliantly executed songs on their debut LP. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
