Drainland & Trenches - Split LP (2011)

Country: Ireland
Genre: Hardcore, Crust, Sludge, Doom
Label: Graanrepubliek, Vendetta, Headwrecker Records
Tracks: 5

Damn! Here's a jawdropping split that almost made me completely lose my shit. After a killer split 7" with Florida's Cellgraft earlier this year, Ireland's Drainland offer up four new songs of blackened, metallic, crust influenced hardcore. Seriously these four new songs are slow, powerful, and ultra-heavy. Fans of Alpinist, Generation Of Vipers, Planks, and Tombs take note. On the second side of the album, fellow countrymen Trenches offer up one song that is about 14 minutes long. Trenches kind of remind me of Celeste or Arktika mixed with early Isis. Seriously, this is another amazing album. Unfortunately the album is only broken down into two tracks, but beggars can't be choosers, I guess.
