The Fourth Estate are a Birmingham, Ala. based band who play a great style of melodic hardcore and punk that draws from a variety of influences. I hear bits and pieces of bands such as Strike Anywhere, Bane, Paint It Black, Bad Religion, and Mouthpiece in the band's sound. The four songs on the band's self titled debut 7" come of sounding energetic and sincere and not overly contrived. This is not my usual preferred style of music, but The Fourth Estate execute the style well. Fans of any of the aforementioned bands need to give these guys a listen. Nice effort guys!
