Damn, I can't believe I sleeped on listening to this band until now. Generation Of Vipers is a Knoxville, TN based three piece band featuring members of U.S. Christmas and A Storm of Light who play an ultra heavy and sonically dense style of music that incorporates elements of post hardcore, sludge, and metal that results in a sound that's dark, crushing, brutal, and metallic. The six songs on Howl and Filth bring to mind a combination of bands that include the heaviness of bands such as newer Weekend Nachos or Harms Way mixed with the darkness of Tombs and the holy terror hardcore sound of Integrity. Overall, Howl and Filth is an incredible album. Seriously, I can't begin to describe how good this album is. Do yourself a favor and give Generation Of Vipers a listen. You'll be glad you did.
