I have been putting off doing this review and post because I was at a loss for words in describing Matahari's debut 7". After listening to this 7" for like the 6th time today, I think I finally have a good way to describe this amazing 7'". Matahari play a style of post hardcore influenced music with elements of metallic hardcore. The best way for me to describe these four songs is modern sounding bands such as Trap Them filtered through Give Up The Ghost, Quicksand, and possibly Defeater. Definitely hardcore by association, but Matahari definitely have a lot more going than your average hardcore band. Give these guys a listen and judge for yourself. Another great release by Boston, MA's Get Young records. Get Young are responsible for releasing the Heavy Breath-EP's Lp, Canvas-Ashes LP, among others. Enjoy! Highly recommended!
