I was holding off on doing this post because I wanted to give Trash Talk's newest EP time to sink in before reviewing and posting this on the revolt. Sacramento, CA's Trash Talk have absolutely nailed it with their newest EP entitled Awake. I was somewhat impressed by the agitated and grating feel the band went with on last year's Eyes And Nines LP. I almost passed on this EP over the weekend thinking it would be a continuation of that sound and was pleasantly surprised to see the band take a completely different approach to the musical direction they went with on this EP. Awake features five new songs that last a little under nine minutes. Gone is the chunky/agitated sound of the band's last LP. Trash Talk chose to replace that sound with a more stripped down and straight forward punk sound that I actually find to suit the band better. Seriously, this is an incredible EP and is a definite must for fans of old Ceremony, All Pigs Must Die, Trap Them, and Dead In The Dirt. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
