Young Governor is a side project of Ben Cook aka Young Governor. Ben Cook has gotten his hands dirty in bands including Fucked Up, The Bitters, No Warning, Violent Minds and Marvelous Darlings. Brian Cook has been recording under this moniker also sometimes referred to as Young Guv since 2008 and released Hidden Love as a 12" on Parts Unknown records. Since then Young Guv has been releasing a steady stream of 7"s and Where It's Quiet is Cook's best material to date. Where It's Quiet melds elements of garage rock, indie pop, and punk into a killer release of power pop brilliance that calls to mind Replacements, The Undertones, or more contemporary acts such as Estrogen Highs, Thee Oh Sees, and Ty Segall. Fans of the current Australian music scene and bands such as Total Control or The Eddy Current Suppression Ring need to give Where It's Quiet a listen. Great stuff. Enjoy!
