This album has been geeting a lot of play by me lately. Creatures are a Los Angeles, CA based band who play a great style of music that combines elements of hardcore, punk, and metal that results in a blackened, crushing, and utterly brutal sound. Vesuvius is the band's second full-length LP and to be honest, I'm really digging the band's current sound. Creatures hit me in a similar way All Pigs Must Die did when they released their second album. Meaning that I wasn't really impressed by the band's first album, but really warmed up to them after hearing the band's follow-up. Creatures is a must listen for fans of Integrity, Ringworm, Cursed, and All Pigs Must Die. The thing that sets Creatures apart from the pack is that the band also has a strong metal influence including bands such as Entombed, Obituary, and Black Sabbath. Great listen. Enjoy.
