Hell yes! Here's one of my most anticipated releases for the new year. Reader's of the blog know that Loma Prieta is one of my favorites and their latest LP only solidifies how good this band really is. Loma Prieta hail from San Francisco, CA and the people who make up this collective group of musicians show listeners that their style of music refuses to be pigeonholed and lumped into any particular subgenre of the punk scene. Members of the band show their diversity with other projects members are involved with including Punch, Beau Navire, and Us Haunted Bodies. After 2010's Life/less LP and a great split 7" with Punch, Loma Prieta is back with their latest LP entitled IV. The twelve songs on this LP are hard to describe but result in a bitter, emotive, and cathartic listen. On IV, the band continues to use their influences, which include Funeral Diner, Orchid, Bread And Circuits, and Yaphett Kotto to their advantage. Overall, this is an amazing album that demands your attention. It's also great to see Loma Prieta signed to deathwish because the band has really put a lot of work into their music and the band deserves a great label like deathwish. Hopefully this will result in more exposure for the band. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
