Here's another impressive EP I received as a request earlier this week and I was absolutely stoked to do this review. Les Doux are a Hattiesburg, MS based band who play an emotive and epic style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, and post hardcore. Les Deux's sound falls into the same camp as bands such as La Dispute, Weak Teeth, Defeater, and Pianos Become The Teeth. The band accomplishes this sound with ease and without coming off as sounding overly contrived or derivative of the bands listed above. The four songs on Dialects (Interrogative, Declarative, Exclamatory, and Imperative) were each written with that particular sentence structure and each song comes from a different perspective of a person involved in the story. The story within Dialects is centered around a son's experiences when leaving home according to the band. Overall, Les Deux have put out a great EP that is well worth checking out! Great stuff!
